Las PInas launches accessible vehicle project for PWDs
On Wednesday, March 1, the City Social Welfare Development Office announced its latest project in partnership with the Las Piñas Persons with Disability Federation, Inc. (LPPWDFI) and the Pinnovation Academy.
The project aims to provide an accessible vehicle for persons with disabilities during emergency situations, and was launched at the Christ the King Covered Court in Brgy. Pamplona I.
The project will make use of an L-300 vehicle that has been modified to accommodate the needs of people with mobility impairments. It will soon be deployed in different barangays in their Disaster Management programs, allowing them to better assist those with disabilities during emergency situations.
The event was attended by a number of dignitaries, including City Vice Mayor April Aguilar, Councilor Filemon Aguilar III, Councilor Lord Aguilar, Brgy. Pamplona I Captain Reinier Salvador, Brgy. Talon V Captain Josie Bumanlag, Brgy. Pulanglupa I Captain Guadalupe Rosales, Brgy. Pulanglupa II Captain Julie Quines, and Brgy. Almanza II Captain Mira-jon Alovera. Also present were representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development Office, the DRRMO, the City Planning Office, and the City Engineering Office.
The launch of this project is a significant step towards improving the lives of persons with disabilities in Las Piñas. With the support of the local government and various organizations, the city is making strides towards creating a more accessible and inclusive community.
