Las Piñas sustains virus response

Las Piñas City continues to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after recording seven recoveries and only five additional individuals affected by the disease.

As of June 6, the City Health Office recorded a total of 324 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and a total of 159 recoveries.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar explained that the increasing number of individuals affected with the virus was due to the expanded targeted testing being done by the City Health Office under Dr. Ferdinand Eusebio.

Aguilar said that she is continuing to ask the local police to conduct a 24-hour patrol in the city to ensure that city residents are following the health protocols, such as wearing of face masks in public places, observing physical distancing, and following the curfew hour from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

In Las Piñas, the highest number of individuals affected with the disease are from Barangays CAA/BF International and Talon Dos, both with 30 confirmed cases.

In Barangay CAA/BF International, it has recorded 16 active cases, 13 recoveries, and one death. Talon Dos has 10 active cases, 15 recoveries, and five deaths.
