Las Pinas celebrates National Women's Month
City Vice Mayor April Aguilar and City Social Welfare and Development Office OIC Lowefe Romulo recently spearheaded the opening ceremony of the 2023 National Women’s Month on Friday, March 3 at the Verdant Covered Court, Brgy. Pamplona III in Caloocan City.
The ceremony, which kicked off the month-long celebration of Women's Month, centered around the theme "WE for gender equality and inclusive society." This year's event aims to recognize the valuable role of women in society and to create an avenue to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges, and strengthen public advocacy of Women’s Month.
The event featured several activities such as wellness programs, showcasing of KALIPI Livelihood Products, and the Awarding of Empowered Juanas. The wellness programs aim to promote physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of women, while the showcase of KALIPI Livelihood Products is an initiative to promote the skills and talents of women and to highlight the importance of supporting their livelihood.
The highlight of the event was the Awarding of Empowered Juanas, which recognizes the achievements and contributions of women in various fields. The awarding ceremony aims to empower women by acknowledging their hard work and dedication in their respective careers and fields of interest.
