Las Pinas City is constructing a 90-bed isolation facility for COVID-19 patients using 26 container vans donated by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar.

City Administrator Rey Balagulan said that the isolation facility is located in a vacant lot near Goodyear Building in Barangay Almanza.

According to Balagulan, each 40-footer container van will be divided into four rooms and designed per Department of Health (DOH) guidelines and recommendation with proper ventilation, toilet, and bath for each air-conditioned room. A designated area for medical fronliners will also be included.

Balagulan said that Villar was happy to note that the city is one of the local government units which has low rate of confirmed COVID-19 cases and highest recovery rate.

As of this date, the city recorded a total of 2875 confirmed cases, recoveries of 2,461, and 302 active cases.
