Las Piñas records moderate increase in Covid cases
City residents are urged by the Las Piñas City government to cooperate after the City Health Office (CHO) reported a moderate increase of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Latest record from the CHO on Monday (February 22) showed that the city recorded a total of 98 cases compared to 88 on February 19.
The OCTA Research Team said that Las Piñas had 116 percent increase in new cases from nine to 20 but its attack rate remained moderate at 3.24 per 100,000.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar, after she learned of the report, conducted several dialogues with city doctors to prevent the spread of the virus.
Aguilar wanted city doctors to intensify contact tracing, isolation, and treatment of residents who are found to be positive with the disease.
She also called on the residents to continue practicing health protocols such as wearing face masks, face shields, frequent handwashing, and observing physical distancing.
