Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez announced that a total of 437,236 individuals — equivalent to 83.69 percent of the 521,410 target population — were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Olivarez said the number of fully vaccinated individuals in the city was based on the Mach 5-Oct. 9 record of the City Health Office.

He said a total of 522,408 or 100.19 percent of the target population have already received their first dose.

On Oct. 9, the mayor said the city government was able to inoculate 3,315 individuals with the first vaccine dose and 1,675 with the second dose.

Olivarez said the continuing vaccination of residents against COVID-19 brought down the number of infections to 971 on Oct. 10.

He told the city residents to continue practicing the basic health protocol being implemented by the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) in order to achieve herd immunity the soonest time.

The mayor said only three barangays in the city remain with a high number of active COVID-19 cases. They are Barangays BF with 214, Don Bosco with 166, and San Isidro with 102.
